This program presents year 9 and 10 students with the opportunity to follow the training and service ideals of the NSW RFS. The program offers a level of camaraderie and sense of community that is unparalleled. Students learn new and valuable skills in practical life skills, leadership, teamwork and initiative while encouraging community responsibility and service.
Upon completion of this program students will have developed the foundation skills required to begin training with their local RFS brigade.
Students and volunteers have said they found the training to be inspiring and fulfilling.
For those interested in learning more about the RFS and preparation for the upcoming fire season, Tinonee Brigade will be holding a "Get Ready" open day on Saturday, September 12 at the Tinonee Rural Fire Brigade shed next to Tinonee oval. A sausage sizzle will be provided and the fire trucks will be on display for the children.
