Mr Bromhead said $7.2 million in funds was available for the 2015-16 financial year, as part of the $21.6 million record funding commitment announced by the NSW Government in 2012.
“I am pleased to announce that applications for Round Two of the 2015-16 Regional Visitor Economy Fund are now open and I encourage our local tourism industry to apply now,” Mr Bromhead said.
“The Regional Visitor Economy Fund is a fantastic NSW Government initiative that supports growth in Regional NSW.
“We must continue to promote the variety of products and experiences on offer in our beautiful region to help grow visitation.
“This initiative provides a great opportunity for the tourism businesses within our local community to further develop their product within the domestic and international marketplace and I encourage those to apply soon so they don’t miss out,” Mr Bromhead said.
Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres said: “The Regional Visitor Economy Fund, administered by our tourism and major events agency Destination NSW, provides investment into the regional visitor economy on a matched dollar-for-dollar basis, and supports projects that contribute to achieving our goal of doubling overnight visitor expenditure to NSW by 2020,” Mr Ayres said.
Further information on the Regional Visitor Economy Fund, including program guidelines, frequently asked questions and the application form, are available on the Destination NSW website: www.destinationnsw.com.au/rvef.
