Wingham Newsagency sponsored triples championship - first round
JUST hanging on to into the second round are last year's winners - Tom Moore/Laurie Mullen and Brian Williams. They came up against the tenacious crew of Graeme Ireland, Paul Swann and Garry Williams, with the final score being 19-18.
In another very close encounter were John Black, Peter Williams and Glen Dennes. It was 18 a piece on the final end with John's team progressing 21-18. They played Jim Gillogly, Ray McNeill and George Floyd. Michael Clarke, Peter Bird and Jake Kennett had a comfortable 28-18 victory over Dallas and Mark Hammond together with David O'Donnell. Greg Bartlett, Robert Allen and Alan Cox played well to down Jake and Col Hinton with Tor Proctor 35-19.
In another big win were Rex Dawson, Col Watson and Chris Kane 36-11 over Barry Kershaw, Tony Baker and Snow Trenchard.
Wednesday - Dad's Army
WINNERS for the event were Jim Gillogly, Mick Hollebone and Peter Holden with a +10 over Greg Bartlett, Tony Baker and Guy Watts. Next best were Brian Williams, Andy Leung and Allan Dodd with a +9 against Ian Furner, Ray McNeill and Allan Messer. In a very close game with a shot difference 21-20 was Peter Williams, Mal Cannon and Jake Kennett against Col Hinton, George Floyd and Tim Richardson.
