Numerous other Brigades from around the district also attended.
Marlee Brigades ability to respond this season has been strengthened by the acquisition of an additional Category 9 Striker vehicle to compliment the existing and larger Category 7 truck.
The Striker vehicle (pictured here with brigade captain Mick Munns), will allow, not only additional fire fighters to be deployed to fires, but improved access to fires in difficult terrain and remote areas.
The vehicle has had a long life of service to the community with previous brigades. It has undergone extensive refitting and servicing to extend its life and durability.
“It's great to get an additional appliance to assist in fire protection through the predicted dry summer ahead," said Mick Munns.
“We would be very pleased to hear from any community members thinking of volunteering. This would help us make sure every seat in our vehicles was filled. We offer good training, uniforms and teamwork in crucial and worthwhile service to the local community.”
Interested people should phone Mick Munns on 6550 5103 or Ken Cameron on 6550 5164.
