“My Place is a key community initiative of Fair Trading and this program in Taree and Wingham includes an education session for high school students on the Australian Consumer Law and a scam awareness seminar for seniors,” Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation Victor Dominello said.
“Last year more than 55,000 people across NSW participated in Fair Trading education programs.”
“It’s a great opportunity to talk with local residents and traders about their rights and obligations under consumer law.”
The Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead said the program included seminars for consumers and traders covering information about real estate agents, motor dealers, home building and self-managing landlords.
“Fair Trading will be conducting trader education visits in Taree and Wingham to ensure everybody has access to information about their rights and responsibilities,” he said.
“I encourage residents to attend the free information sessions across the four days.
