The July Taree Motorama Monthly Mug was played for in conjunction with the Drummond Golf Trophy. This was won by Robbie Hynes with a 71 nett. He also wins the MRD Electrical Monthly Medal for B grade. The A grade nett and medal winner was Murray McCartney with a 73 nett. B grade nett winner was Terry Harris 73 nett, C grade nett and medal winner was Wayne (Wally) Lewis with 72 nett.
The gross winner for A grade was Reid Brown on a countback from his father. Through the week Reid played in the Combined High School under 18 Matchplay Championships finishing runner up, being beaten on the 17th hole. He has reduced his handicap to scratch - congratulations. The B grade gross winner was Denis McKeough, and the C grade gross winner was Bill Sullivan.
The Kangaroofing Long Drives were also played for with Murray McCartney winning A grade, B grade Brad Coleman, C grade Reece Small.
The Sharpshooters were on the 3rd and 12th Wingham Gourmet Meats Phil Jirman, 4th and 13th All About Conveyancing Reid Brown. Not to be outdone Rod picked up the Bayview Seafoods on the 7th and 16th, Glenn Smyth was the winner of the Bent on Food voucher. Balls went to 76 nett.
On Wednesday July 1 the vets played for the July monthly medal. The winner was David Homewood with 76 nett. Next was Courtney Adamson 69 on a countback from Ted Bowen 69. The NTP winners were on the 3rd and 12th Peter Christie, on the 7th and 16th Dave Andrews, and on the 9th and 18th Courtney Adamson. The putting was won by David Homewood with 27 putts.
The Thursday Chook Run was won by Damien Moore with 22pts, next was Mark Fog making the most of spare time with 21pts, third Graham Troth 20pts, fourth after a four way countback was Neville Blanch 19. Barry Brown won the 7th NTP with a very good shot.
The winner of the Ladies' Friday competition was Jan Baker. Ball winners were Pat Marcus, Beth Braham, Jill Hampton and Pat Whiteley. Welcome back to Mary Stevens and Jenny Homewood. The NTP winner was Jill Hampton.
Events coming up: On July 11 the Greenaway's Taxi voucher will be played for and this will be a stableford event. On July 18 the Harvey Duncan Memorial two player ambrose will be held.
