On Wednesday the veterans played a two man Ambrose event. There were 47 starters and the winners were J and H Wootton with 63 1/4 net. Next were Dave Andrews and Sandy Dunn 65 net, third Jim Bradshaw and Rex White 66 1/4 net. The NTP winners were on the third and 12th Mick Parker and on the seventh and 16th Terry Morris.
On Thursday 32 players hit off in the chook run. The winner was George Legge with a great 23 points; next closely following was Syd Gilfillan with 22 points on a count back from Ian Herd 22, Dave Irvine 21 c/b, Ben Heywood 21 was winner of the last prize. The NTP winners on the third were Damien Moore and on the seventh Mark Fotheringham. The LJ Hooker umbrella for June was won by Syd Gilfillan defeating Steely who is still complaining.
Saturday dawned a beautiful day with 60 players playing for the Wingham Computers Trophy. The winner was Jason Fowles 39 points on a c/b. The A-grade winner was Mark Taylor 38 c/b, runner-up was Damien Moore 38, Damo playing very good golf of late and reducing his handicap to single figures, B-grade winners was Jim Bradshaw 38, runner-up was Matt Essery 35, C-grade Mark Blanch 39 points (he showed his father how it was done), runner-up John Turner 37.
The NTP winners on the first and 10th winning the Wingham Plaza Butchers voucher was Jim Bradshaw, on the third and 12th winning the Caddies Restaurant voucher was Jim Bradshaw, Damo Moore won the All about Conveyancing voucher on the fourth and 13th, the seventh and 16th Bayview Seafood Garry Masters and Murray McCartney was the winner of the Bent on Food vouchers. The ball comp went to 34 points.
