The project which started in April was originally expected to be completed, and Comboyne Road reopened, by mid-June. It is now expected that the replacement of the existing timber bridge with a concrete culvert will extend to the end of June.
Daniel Park, Senior Leader Infrastructure Services, says “We can plan these large-scale works to the smallest of details, but we’re unfortunately not able to influence the weather. While we’re pleased with the work completed to date, the on-going inclement weather has meant down-time, which in turn means a hold-up in having the new bridge open to traffic.”
Motorists in the area are advised to observe signage and continue using the detours that are in place via Shorts Road, Cedar Party Road and Youngs Road.
