Saturday sponsored day
THIS was an ‘open’ day with some of the ‘skirts’ putting it over the fellas, particularly Lillian Cross with a supurb last bowl when she teamed up with Greg Bartlett and Snow Trenchard to win the day and downed Col Watson, Brian Williams and Ross Piggott in the final two end game.
Runners-up, again one of the ‘fairer’ sex-Denise Matheson and she played with Peter Williams and Mick Hollebone to have recorded two wins in the 10 end games.
Not having the best of luck for the day were Glen Dennes, Sonya King and Glen Gilford when they went down in both games – but they did take home a big voucher by loosing both games.
Twenty four players enjoyed the day and the bowls committee intend having another open sponsored event in the near future.
Sunday visitation from North Haven
IT was great to see 60 players on both greens for the morning game with the visitors from up north and they left our club at 3pm taking with them some worthwhile trophies and memories. The weather favoured good bowling on the greens prepared by our new green keeper Brad Bell and the food at lunchtime prepared by our new ‘chef’ Renae was also a big plus for the club.
General meeting
AT 11am on Sunday the June 14 there is to be ‘general’ meeting and all members of the club – both full bowling and social would be advised to keep the time and date free to attend.
