An exciting line up of performers will bring emotional and touching poetry to the St Matthews Anglican Hall on Friday May 29.
A breakfast menu will be provided from 7.30am with all profits of the morning going to the Wingham High School scripture teaching ministry.
“We have it so early so people can listen and the go to work,” Eric Richardson OAM, chairman of the festival committee, said.
Most of the poetry will have a Scottish connection and this year there is a clever twist on a favourite Australian bush poem by Thomas E Spencer “How McDougal topped the score.”
Just for Bonnie Wingham the poem has been renamed “How MacDonald topped the score,” in line with Clan Donald being this year’s Clan of Honour.
There will also be original poetry, specially written for the event.
Some of the recitalists this year are David McPherson, Bob McMillan, Catherine Beard, Deirdre Sutherland, Warwick Murray, Hilda Oakley and Eric Richardson.
Anyone is welcome to attend the Braveheart Poets Breakfast, there is no need to book. Come along to St Matthew’s Anglican Hall from 7.30am on Friday, May 29, cost $12.50.
