An extra end was required to find a victor in the game between John Black and David O'Donnell versus Peter Williams and Toa Proctor with the scoreline being 24 apiece.
They had turned on a great display of excellent bowling, however after 10 ends Toa and Peter were down 11 shots but then picked up seven shots to get back into the game and from that point on it was neck and neck to decide a winner 26-24 on Sunday afternoon.
On Saturday Chris Kane, playing with Rex Dawson, was accredited with the Shot of the Day on the final end by picking up the jack and trailing for four shots in their encounter against Michael Clarke and Peter Bird. On the 17th end it was all square on 14 apiece, however Rex and Chris kept the upper hand to take the game 22-16.
Robert Allen and Greg Bartlett got away to a good start against father and son, Dallas and Mark Hammond, to lead 6-1 early, however the game changed somewhat to have Dallas and Mark pile on the points to take the lead after 10 ends and retain that eventually taking the game 19-11.
Playing his first Club game, Ian Furner teamed up with Glen Gilford and they came up against the very experienced pairing of Col Watson and Laurie Mullen. On the 13th end Glen and Ian took then lead 13-12, but disaster struck and Col and Laurie picked up six shots to then maintain the lead taking the game 24-19.
Another father and son combination of Col and Jake Hinton played Tom Moore and Steve Matheson with the game going to Tom and Steve 26-16.
Glen Dennes and Jim Gillogly played Graeme Ireland and Paul Swan with the result going to Glen and Jim 24-12. However the contest was very tight until Glen and Jim picked up seven shots midway into the game.
Wednesday
Dad's Army'The 'Jackpot' went off last week and was shared by Bruce Hammond, Ross Piggott, Ben Wolters, Allan Messer, Andrew Leung, Tony Baker, George Floyd, Greg Bartlett, Garry Williams, Allan Dodd, Jake Kennett and Ian Furner. Winners for the day were Brian Williams, Guy Watts and Tim Richardson with their +13 over Col Hinton, Dick Connell and Tim as a swinging lead. Finishing with a +7 were Dallas Hammond, Peter Holden and Gerry De Pyper against Al Cannon, Mick Hollebone and David Tait.
Wednesday twilight
With the colder weather setting in this was the final outing for players in this event until the springtime and the bowls committee would like some input to vary the conditions of play and perhaps set up a points score to add interest and attract additional players.
Winning with a 12-.10 result were Mick Hollebone and Pat Payton and they accounted for Peter Tutty and Tony Colchen. Runners up were Tim and Rex against Max and Mick. Playing outstanding bowls Glen Gilford and Ian Furner put it over David Tait and Snow Trenchard and it another game Allan Dodd and Hunter Payton took out Peter Kriss and Mick Harris.
Friday mixed
This event commenced at 4.30pm as usual but the adverse weather conditions called on end to play after about eight ends were completed. Eighteen players turned up and a draw of the cards then decided who took home the big money and that was George Floyd and Janet Nash as winners and Ian Furner, Len Hemming and Peter Tutty as runners up.

Saturday - This is a sponsored event with plenty of interest and it is 'open' with single entries-so please enter your name on the sheet early.
Sunday - North Haven travelling bowlers are arriving with a busload and mixed bowlers and we are appealing for more entries to match their numbers- it is in uniform.
