Re-elected president Ern Hollebone reported a very healthy state of affairs with a record breaking 399 members enrolled for 2015 so far. He stated that the past year has seen a major step forward in the growth of U3A in the Manning Valley and thanked the presenters, committee and the members for their support and willing participation.
The new committee comprises of (back row) Ross Connell, Ann Haydon, Pam Hollebone, Kerry Formann, Peter Savage, (front row) Barbara Fieldhouse (treasurer), Ern Hollebone (president) and Lloyd Seaton (secretary). Joan Guthrie was absent.
Three of our popular courses are going from strength to strength. The Silver Tones Choir has been asked to sing at several events, the Silver Ukulele Strummers have 11 performances already booked in for the year and they are very excited to have been invited to perform at the Akoostik Festival at Wingham in October. The Ballroom Dancers are getting quite keen and are able to have some special training after class for medal exams. There are two different courses on meditation/relaxation, two on exercises, folk and line dancing, open forum, philosophy, Spanish, Tai Chi and a wide variety of other courses, too numerous to mention. There are also theatre trips and the Sunday lunch club.
So if you are looking for something different to nourish your body, brain and soul, take your pick from the wide balance of courses which are available with Manning Valley U3A.
The U3A is always happy to welcome new members.
