A special dedication and unveiling event was held at the Museum on Wednesday April 22, and Manning Valley Historical Society president Barbara Waters said "it was a lovely day".
She added that there were two unexpected happenings that made the event extra special.
Brian Andrews from Albury, a relative of Private Jack Andrews, donated Private Andrew's memorial plaque to the Museum.
The plaque, popularly known as the 'Dead Man's Penny' was issued after the war to all next of kin of soldiers who were killed in the war. Private Andrew's was issued to his mother Amelia.
Barbara was delighted that the ceremony bought together cousins who had never met each other before.
"The cousin's getting to know each other, the high school students in attendance, and the penny made it all very moving," said Barbara.
