Stage one of the project spans 3km, starting from the Purfleet roundabout at the intersection of the Bucketts Way and Manning River Drive, through to the entrance to the Bucketts Way landfill.
The scope of works includes the rehabilitation and widening of the existing road pavement, drainage works and improvements to intersections.
As a significant rural collector road, there is likely to be an impact on local businesses, residents and the community from changes to traffic flow, reduced speed limits and single lane operation. Commuters using this section of road should plan for minor delays caused by this project until the works are scheduled for completion in early 2016, subject to weather and on site conditions.
The Australian Government has committed $16million to upgrade the Bucketts Way. Greater Taree City Council and Gloucester Shire Council are working closely together to deliver this project.
Community Meeting
AN information session giving an overview of the Bucketts Way upgrade project will be held at Tinonee Memorial Hall on Tuesday April 28 at 5.30pm. Residents, business-owners and commuters who may be affected by the roadworks are encouraged to attend.
