The Easter Powerboat Spectacular, running from Good Friday to Easter Sunday, will be one of the main attractions for locals over the weekend.
Held on the picturesque Manning River foreshore, the yearly event attracts both local and international drivers with great viewing from Fotheringham Park to Endeavour Place. Main events will be on Saturday. A total of four Australian championships will be decided during the packed program.
Art in the Vale will be active on the weekend at the Hannam Vale Hall, running from Friday 10am until Sunday 4pm.
The official opening night will be held on Friday, April 3 from 6pm to 8pm with world renowned artist Sally Horton the guest speaker.
Attendance for the opening night costs $7 with a gold coin donation for the exhibition.
For those looking for a punt, there will be a Taree Wingham Race Club meeting at the race course on Saturday.
If the racetrack doesn’t take your fancy, Club Old Bar will have local, free entertainment playing live on the Saturday from 7.30pm.
A variety of markets and bazaars will operate throughout the long weekend too, with the Wingham Farmers Market on from 8am to midday on Saturday at the Wingham showground.
The Black Head Bazaar will be in action from 8.30am to 2pm the next day on the main street of Black Head.
The Crowdy Harrington Marine Rescue will be another popular market with a wide variety of stalls selling crafts, produce, clothing plants and much more. All proceeds from the markets go toward financing marine rescue boats and operations.
The market will run from 8am to 1pm on Monday at John Oxley Reserve.
The Johns River Country Markets will be held on the Monday as well from 8am to 12.30pm at 54-56 Johns River Road.
All proceeds from the sale of food items and stall holder rental is invested back into the hall and recreation reserve.
For the kids, the Easter Challenge at Honeycomb Valley Farm will begin on the Saturday and will continue through everyday of the school holidays. Activities include an egg hunt, chilli honey chow down, obstacle course, farm tours and meet and greets with the farm animals.
With a wide variety of activities available throughout the weekend, Easter is shaping up as a busy time.
