The group had been in the area for several days and enjoyed a visit to Manning Valley Historical Museum on the Sunday also.
Thursday evening members gathered at the Museum for their monthly meeting and discussed several important issues with their constitution along with working out rosters for the next couple of fundraising events that included a very successful garage sale on Saturday.
The morning started very early for the dedicated members as they set up from 7am for the opening at 8am and carried through until 2pm attracting a steady stream of customers throughout this time.
There was a bargain for everyone, with bric-a-brac, plants, crockery, yummy goodies, books, handicraft and produce from the museum's own garden.
The passing traffic of folk going down to the Tinonee Memorial School of Arts Hall to cast their votes for the state election also helped as did the beautiful weather.
After the cut off time the leftovers were packed away and members took time out to relax and enjoy a sausage sizzle and appraise their efforts which will help with the continued running and maintenance of the museum.
Barbara Waters, president of MVHS Inc. was the lucky lady who will be enjoying the delicious fruit and vegetable tray.
Many thanks to all our wonderful helpers and supporters who made all the hard work come to fruition.
There is only a few days rest as the members will be working hard on Easter Saturday when they man the Easter Saturday barbecue at Masters on Manning River Drive from 8am onwards.
This will be the first time the historical society has been offered the opportunity to conduct the barbecue.
