President Trish Webber said Nancy joined the Club in 1993 and began her long stint in executive positions the very next year.
On nine occasions since joining, Nancy has held the directorship of committees and held the president and treasurer's position for two years each "with so much enthusiasm that we members are exhausted just thinking of her plans for each year of fundraising!" said Trish.
"She is a dynamo and especially gifted as a caterer, Nancy has a special little book which overflows with ideas.
"Many people are excellent volunteers but Nancy stands out because she takes on the leadership positions, organising and working physically harder than anyone else. She can stand on her feet forever, probably because she used to run a High School canteen!
"Other volunteers follow and trust her lead."
The club recognises that Nancy is passionate about what she does in all aspects of her life and is able to source ways of improving life for others in her community who are disadvantaged.
"She is not afraid to stand up and question when she believes there is an injustice. She is an excellent mentor to new members of Quota. Nancy is an active member of her local community in Wingham, helping others through work at her Church, serving in the Anglican Op Shop and as a member of the Parish Council.
"She is renowned for her cooking for stalls and for those in need, she takes time to help Quota in Taree with Meals on Wheels, the library book delivery run and Telecross.
"She is a very hands-on grandmother who spends a lot of time babysitting and attending special events to support her children and grandchildren… all this while she is organising another Quota or Church event.
"This Award is fitting recognition of Nancy's contribution, not only to Quota International, but to the community at large.
"We are proud to announce her as our volunteer of the year."
