A huge crowd cheered drivers in last year’s event and it was said to be the best demolition derby Wingham has ever seen.
This year’s derby has again been organised by experienced derby driver Clint Walker.
Both the ladies and the open derby will attract some of the best drivers in the State who will go bonnet to bumper for some heavy “smashin.”
Both Clint and his wife Casey travel the State to compete and they will both be taking part this year.
The open derby will attract more than 15 drivers who will simply attempt to smash their way around until only one car remains running.
It’s not so much a race but survival of the fittest.
Cars are purpose built and Clint said there are some very well built, fast vehicles entering this year. Rarely does a car survive more than one derby – there is simply no holding back and it is all about the entertainment value.
This is a fun event for the whole family to enjoy.
The Demolition Derby will take place in the main arena on Saturday, and is estimated to start at 5pm.
