For 28 years Killabakh's major fund raising activity 'Day in the Country' has been on the first Saturday in November. This year will break that tradition with a change of date to Saturday, September 5.

Over three decades this active community has earned an enviable reputation with the popular annual event and developed a strong and loyal following. This will be put to the test this year with the change of date.
Extreme heat last year - in excess of 40 degrees - was the deciding factor. This took its toll on visitors, stallholders and the hard-working locals.
After surveying interested parties and debating the issue within their community, the decision to swap to the first Saturday in September was made.
Apart from the change of date, however, the format of the day will remain essentially the same. The popular attractions will return and, as always, a few new ones will add interest and diversity.
The earlier date means that the main organising committee - Judith Jackson, Michelle Swannack, Brian Willey and George Hoad - are already plotting and planning.
If you'd like to make contact with them or find out what goes on, visit Killabakh's Day in the Country website at http://killabakh.wix.com/day-in-the-country or phone Judith on 6550 5758.
Mark the new date in your calendar now, as Killabakh's Day in the Country is still guaranteed to be a day out not to be missed.
