The event will comprise of dressage and showjumping rounds on the Saturday, and a mini cross country course on the Sunday.
The event organiser is Georgina Saunders, daughter of Olympian Denis Piggot, who competed in the team eventing at Montreal in 1976 to bring home a bronze medal.
"The mini cross country is similar to express eventing at Equitana. It's quite a new thing," said Georgina.
Georgina added that the mini cross country is an ideal way for people to test the waters in eventing, to see if they enjoy it and wish to continue to compete in full eventing competitions.
Wingham Showjumping Club currently has 70 paid members, and hope to get 80 entries for the competition.
The competition is open to anybody and entry fees are $45 for members and $55 for non members, with a $3 horse levy for each horse.
Entries close March 13 and all entries must be sent and paid in full by this date.
The competition is being held at Cedar Party Reserve on Racecourse Rd, Wingham, and refreshments will be available at the club canteen on site.
Camping will be available at Wingham Showground and can be arranged by contacting Brian Moore on 0427 570229.
