Established in 1997 in memory of the artist Penny Meagher, the purpose of the Windmill Trust Scholarship is to enable artists from regional NSW to be part of the professional art making community.
Applicants must be residents of regional NSW and may apply for up to $5,000 to assist towards the cost of exhibiting work, completion of a visual arts degree or independent artistic research or practice. Applications close at midnight on Saturday, May 23.
James Blackwell, the 2014 Windmill Trust Scholarship recipient, is currently exhibiting at The Blue Mountains Cultural Centre as part of their Exposé program.
"I was very honoured to be the 2014 recipient of the Windmill Trust Scholarship and found it invaluable in helping me to cover the costs of framing and photographing my artwork for my exhibition The Native Grid II at the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre", he said.
