There were concerns for a while about flash flooding, but when the cyclone in Queensland was downgraded, we breathed a sigh of relief.
The worry concerns the prospect of being flooded out, as the prospect of being flooded in is rather nice for a day or two.
Now we’re all trying to get washing dry, which is a challenge when it’s too hot to light up the fireplaces.
Not that I’m complaining. I
t is really great to have a full tank at this time of year.
The Veronicas thrill in Sydney
A COUPLE of our local teenagers made the trip to the big smoke to see the very talented musical expat twins “The Veronicas” on the weekend.
It’s quite a flog for our kids to get down to Sydney to see touring acts, so it’s great when the show is terrific, as this one apparently was.
The trip also provided an opportunity for a little retail therapy, and gave the girls a look at the Chinese New Year decorations around Chinatown.
Another year on…
CONGRATULATIONS and celebrations to our locals celebrating birthdays this week.
Norm Shepard, Ray Nowland, Lynda Butler and Lou V. all welcomed in another year over this past week.
Hope the next 12 months bring good health and good luck guys!
Happy new year!
CHINESE New Year has recently happened and we wish a very happy new year to the Chinese community in the Manning.
The Bulga musos from “Up In Annies’s Room” helped usher in the Year of the Goat/ Sheep when they played at Taree Leagues Club, where a special six course banquet was served to honour the occasion.
The food looked and smelled fantastic, and happy diners heartily congratulated the chef and his team on a great job.
