Last week saw the completion of approximately 1700m2 of road pavement between Boronia Street and McLellan Street.
This area has also been temporarily sealed in preparation for its final asphalt surface layer to be applied in the next few weeks.
All kerb and gutter replacement works have also now been completed.
Some unexpected problems with ground conditions and in-ground services at the intersection of Muldoon Street has delayed this section of the project.
As a result, the current detour and part road closure of Muldoon Street, will remain in place for another 3-4 weeks.
Greater Taree City Council said motorists should continue to expect some delays whilst travelling on the Wingham Road between Bushland Drive and Old Wingham Road.
The entire project is scheduled to be completed by mid-March, weather permitting.
These works are part of council's scheduled program to improve our local roads.
