D Matheson (skip), C O'Donnell and L Gilford defeated K Carlton (skip), P Marcus and J Duncan 19/14
The scores were close with only five shots separating the winners.
The team of Karen Carlton got to a slow start 5/0 by the third end, steadied their ship for a score of six all on seventh end.
But the real cruncher came when the team dropped a five on the 16th end.
Alas, it became 11/19, rallied to make it 14/19.
The team of D Matheson are a good strong team to play in districts events; and I hope they do well.
Congratulations to both teams on an exciting final and their game sportsmanship.
Quite a few lady bowlers commented on the good game new bowler Joanne Duncan played in a lead position on K Carlton's team.
Keep up your good bowling Jo!
Social Bowls
TWO teams of fours was played, "between friends I might add."
There was rivalry plus on the greens, for in one team Noreida Fotheringham wanted to win no matter what. She got to play lead position on both sides of two teams.
It didn't do her any good as the fours team that won the day had the lucky rink number!!
Maybe next time Noreida!
J Thorburn (skip), C Lockrey, M Walsh and N Fog defeated J Nash (skip), J Pedron, C Willey and N Fog (again).
G Bell (skip), L Dennes, D Polley and P Weir defeated J Ditton (skip), M Hinton, R Gillogly and S Wolters 24/14
