This lucky little pup was taken in by loved local Sharyn Brock, who is just about the best pet owner any animal could hope for.
Sharyn dubbed her Luna, and the pup with one blue eye and one eye of brown and blue enchanted everyone.
Late last week the wee pup wandered into the territory of another dog and was badly mauled.
Things looked decidedly grim for little Luna who was rushed down to Wingham Valley Vets, where she received the best of care, but still hovered between this world and the next.
Day by day things looked hopeful, and at time of writing, she seems to be on the up and up.
The prognosis is good for the plucky canine, and many thanks are extended to the wonderful, caring staff and vets at Wingham Valley Vets for their attention and skill.
It may seem strange for one little critter to have such an impact on the community, but this particular dog is very special. Hopefully all is upwards and onwards for Luna (and Sharyn) and next week I hope to report on Luna’s return home and pampered convalescence.
Bobin markets a humdinger
CONGRATULATIONS to all concerned who organised the Bobin Markets the weekend before last, as the reports of what a great day it was keep streaming in.
The sunny weather brought folks from near and far, and the atmosphere was terrific.
Many stallholders and patrons stayed on into the evening, with a number of people camping in the lovely grounds.
Well done all, and here’s to the next event.
The aged of Aquarius
HAPPIEST of birthdays to our local Aquarians including sculptor extraordinaire Rick Reynolds, amiable apiarist Pete Matthison and Elands archivist and front yard installation artist Tab Dec.
Warmest salutations also to honorary Elander Betty White, who has brought so much joy to her Elands grandchildren and so many extraordinary stories to us all.
Many happy returns to each of you and may you all have many, many more years amongst us.
Heading in the One Direction
IT would be remiss of me not to note that the world’s most coveted young man, Harry Styles, turned 21 this week.
Certain lovely young ladies from this village who will remain nameless are heading to Sydney this weekend to attend the concert of the fab five and no doubt expend a bit of lung power in the screaming department.
Have a great time girls, and rest up in the knowledge that his particular name attests to the popularity of fellows with that moniker since the song “I’m just wild about Harry” was penned in 1921.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
