The society said there has been a continued increase in visitors to all events, that has helped the Show Society raise much needed funds. It can now look forward to a bigger and better year in 2015.
Some of the successful events held at the Wingham Showgrounds in 2014 were:
The Summertime Rodeo in January was a sellout that saw visitors and locals attending in droves to witness amazing action in the arena.
The annual Wingham Show held in March was an outstanding success, with the traditional displays, equestrian events, carnival rides, fireworks and the demolition derby. Families enjoyed the two day event and the chance to be involved in one of the remaining, true agricultural shows in the region.
The Manning Madness PBR Bull Ride in April was an exciting addition to the Wingham Show Society calendar of events this year. Champion bull riders and our local bull riders produced an action packed night. Keep an eye out for this event happening next year as well.
The annual Wingham Beef Week event held in May received additional support from local schools, with an excellent quality of entrants this year. Informative guest speakers also delivered specialized forums for students.
Appearing for the second year at the Showgrounds, the Akoostik Festival was held in October and was a resounding success for the festival organizers, beating their attendance from the past year and brought a large number of music lovers through the gates.
The recent Wingham Campdraft had over 700 entries, with families, riders and horses coming from all over NSW. There was also the unique opportunity for local families to see the 800 head of cattle mustered through to the showgrounds this year.
A new event held this year was the Manning Valley Horse Expo. Experienced trainers delivered informative seminars, demonstrations and stall holders enjoyed the two day event. Declared a success, the Expo will now be held annually. Horse lovers travelled from all over NSW to be a part of this unique event.
