John Broadbent really enjoyed his day winning with 41 points.
John just sneaked home by one shot from B-grade nett winner Bill Osborne, with Cam Darby the A grade nett winner with 36 on a countback and Steve Hatchwell winning C- grade with 37 points.
Richard Dudgeon was A-grade runner-up as was earle Braham in B-grade and Tony Lattimore in C-grade.
Don Schoonhoven from Howlong Golf Club provided probably the highlight of his golf career, with a hole-in-one for an eagle and the Wingham Remedial Massage voucher on the 3rd/12th hole. Congrats Don.
Mitch Steel had a mixed day but still managed to win the Wingham Plaza Butchers 1st/10th NTP.
Brad Coleman did the same to win the 4th/13th All About Conveyancing prize, Adrian Yeo took home the 7th/16th Bayview Seafoods and Brian Roberts hit one ‘dead’ to win the 9th/18th Bent on Food hole.
Wednesday Veterans
A BIG field of 57 veterans played their last official game of the year, a 14 hole four club event.
Danny Mills loved the concept winning by three shots from Geoff Swaffield on 30 points and Ian Iavy in third spot, also with 30 points.
Not bad scoring for 14 holes boys.
Peter Christie won the NTP on the 3rd/12th and Neville Bell did likewise on the 7th/16th.
Neville Hall won the OBE event.
Wednesday Ambrose
FIFTH two golfers enjoyed fine conditions Wednesday afternoon with scoring down a little from previous weeks. Manning Smash (Paul Latimore) won the day by less than a shot from PPPT (Mark Fotheringham), Tax deductions (Earle Braham) third. No-one won the NTP, Josh meldrum won the club voucher and Tim Smith was popular after winning the port.
Thursday LJ Hooker Chook Run
THURSDAY was almost a washout with heavy rain most of the day. Seven players did however, manage a few holes, Syd Gilfillan the best with 18 points (for seven holes). There were no NTP’s. The big “skins” event has been postponed to early in the new year.
Coming Events
THIS Saturday is a single Stableford for the annual Dennis McKeough trophy. The following Saturday, December 27 is a four person ambrose with non handicap players welcome. Good Luck and good golfing.
