Captains for 2014/15 are Mathew Niksic and Maitlan Brown with vice captains Jake Irvine and Mikayla Peckett.
Mathew, Maitlan and Mikayla are well known to the district having had lead roles in past school productions.
Maitlan's reputation as a high level sports person in golf and cricket has helped to develop her leadership skills while Jake has proved a worthy leader with younger students.
All four recently participated in leadership training in Newcastle with about three hundred other students that was run by Grip Leadership a national training group.
The new student council has already held a day of training at Wingham High School.
To develop team skills SRC co-ordinators Julie Leslie and Merilyn Kendall organised groups to plan, purchase and prepare lunch.
These teams liaised with each other regarding sharing of food and resources.
After this team building exercise the students then discussed how the student council could contribute to the learning of students with the school.
The Student Representative Council is important to a school because it creates a good link between students, staff and community.
There are 42 students on WHS 2014/15 team.
