ON Tuesday night November 11 The Rotary Club of Wingham hosted the zones public speaking finals.

The students were Thomas Dorner from St Claire's High School, Evelyn Foxwell from Taree High School, Chloe Haynes from Gloucester High School and Jorj Sumptner-Johnston from Wingham High School.
The adjudicators for the evening were Mr Robert (Yogi) Weller and Mr Phillip Thornton, both extremely experienced public speakers.
After a lengthy deliberation by the judges, Evelyn Foxwell from Taree High was announced the winner.
Evelyn will next compete at Walcha in February 2015, and if successful will compete in the grand final at the Rotary District Conference next March.
The winner from this will recieve a two weeks holiday in New Zealand, sponsored by Rotary.
About 50 people attended the evening, representing and supporting their clubs speakers.
