The young Wingham High School student has been playing junior handicap since he was aged three, and now has a handicap of 4.5, though he proudly says he has been down to three.
The Wingham Cup was held at Wingham Golf Club on Saturday November 15, and was won by 15 year-old Reid.
Earlier this year Reid also won the Junior Club Championship, and beat his father, Rod, who won the Senior Championship, to take out overall Club Championship.
Reid's accomplishments also include a junior team win at the 2014 Regional Golf Championships in Muswellbrook in August as a member of the Lower North Coast team, which comprises players from the Manning Valley, Buladelah, Kew, Port Macquarie and Camden Haven.
The team also competed recently in an under 16 shield competition at Gloucester, where they tied with the Hunter team, but lost on a count back.
This winter Reid competed in a schools event in the Blue Mountains, which was open to year 7, 8 and 9 students in all schools in NSW. Reid came second by only one shot.
Reid's overall dream is to be a professional golf player, and hopes to represent Australia in the Olympics "one day", but ,for now, he hopes to get a place in the Hunter or State teams.
