The first week saw Wingham lose the toss and sent in to bat, with runs flowing steadily but no team really getting on top.
Jake Dargan top scored with 32, proving himself to be a patient and talented opening batsman, and he was ably supported by Cooper Staff (21) making a respectable total of 7-134.
When it was our turn to bowl each bowler stood up and it was a great team effort to limit Old Bar to 120 and take first innings points.
Calum McKinnon took three wickets, including a superb caught and bowled, while Cooper and Blake Thompson each took two and Thomas Martin took a great catch in the outfield.
Batting in their second innings Daniel Pereira got some valuable time out in the middle, with minions Dylan Mitchell and Jackson Smith getting their first taste of competitive batting.
It was a great way to start the season.
Coach Brad was extremely pleased with his team’s effort.
