Wingham posted 137 from their 40 overs, whilst the West claimed victory with three wickets and two overs to spare.
Daniel Barber and Wayne Smoothy got Wingham away to a reasonable start when adding 38 for the opening stand.
Smoothy was first to go for 16.
Barber and Adam Carney bolstered the tally to 76 before Barber holed out on 28 to give Adam McLeod his second wicket.
Carney fell for an innings high 31 then skipper Brad Staff was adjudged LBW for 11, leaving Wingham 4 for 106.
From there only Brock Hynes with 27 made an impact as the tail fell away.
Cooper Staff, not yet a teenager, filled the no 11 role and made one not out.
Former Taree Leagues/Cundle United bowler, Shaun Carr, was the best of the Taree West bowlers, claiming three for 27 from his eight overs.
Taree West got away to a good start through Nathan Fuller and Elijah Dack until Ryan Williams bowled Dack for nine with the score at 26. Williams had terrorized Dack, striking a number of body blows prior to his dismissal. Andrew Croker swatted 14 then fell to Smoothys second ball. Fuller was bowled by Staff for a solid 36, Smoothy had Crozier stumped for two and Staff dismissed Carr for six to have West teetering at five for 73.
Paul Cox and skipper Gary Pomplin steadied the ship until Cox was caught from Mitch Nivens bowling for 25.
Pomplin and McLeod saw West safely home, McLeod being stumped with the totals even for 16, Pomplin remaining unbeaten on 26.
Niven, Staff and Smoothy claimed two wickets each.
