The success of last year's three-day event saw more than 2000 people through the showgrounds gates and pre sales of tickets for this year were last week already up on 2013.
"Saturday is a big day for festival goers and by far the busiest," said organiser Donna Ballard.
With the gates opening at 8.30am, the crowds soon began spilling into the showgrounds and this year local act Sweet Nothin' was the first to entertain on the Saturday.
More than 45 campsites were expected to be filled on Saturday night as folk stayed over to enjoy a laid back Sunday and yet another day of music.
But last year the surprise of the weekend was the Friday night, a mass choir performance wowed audiences and this year a finely tuned circus performance kicked things off at 6pm followed by five different and diverse acts on the main stage.
International musician and acclaimed choral conductor Chris James, conducted a free choral workshop which was the festival's opening event.
The workshop ran from 10am on Friday and participants then formed a mass choir and performed at the festival.
They joined the likes of James Reyne, Grace Knight and Rick Price who also performed over the weekend.
More than 130 people attended last year's choral workshop and by popular demand it returned for this year's festival.
The Akoostik festival is an opportunity for families and music lovers to kick back, relax and indulge the senses.
Donna Ballard and her hard-working team collated together a diverse and energetic collection of musical acts to rival any of the festivals in Australia.
Wingham Akoostik Music Festival was on October 17, 18 and 19 at Wingham Showgrounds.
