This was announced at the club's presentation held at the Wingham Town Hall.
Ellem captained the Tigers 18s while he also played some first grade during the year.
Prop Logan Pocklington was named the first grade player of the year while Brendan Butler picking up the reserve grade award and Ellem the under 18s. Rhiannon Fuller was the league tag player of the year. First grade centre Tim Bridge was named the rookie of the year while prop Ben Welsh received the award for commitment to the game.
Club junior Mitch Barnett was the special guest. Barnett is now with the Canberra Raiders and was named players' player with the club's Holden Cup side last season.
A presentation was made to Mark Spencer to mark his 20 years serving the club as chaplain.
