Our two local stars Noah Palmer and Jai Harrison no doubt had a hand (or a boot as the case may be) in the stunning victory, and we're very proud of you both.
Mention should also go to Darren, Connie and Kath who, as parents, ferried them to games and training, and gave them all the love and encouragement on the road to the big win.
Young fella marks a milestone
BELOVED Bobinite Paul Lewers (pictured) had an unexpectedly busy Saturday when a throng descended on his farm to help him celebrate his 60th birthday.
His wife Meaghan had spread the word and invited friends from far and near to be there, and Paul remarked that he got suspicious when the family started setting up a large number of tables in the yard mid morning.
Guests enjoyed a feast on the lawn and birthday boy Paul celebrated surrounded by his friends, children and grandchildren.
Daughter Shannon made a wickedly indulgent cake which was savoured by all, and absent son Alex sent greetings from Spain where he's currently holidaying.
Happy birthday Paul, and may you have many more.
Greetings across the miles
BIRTHDAY salutations also go to Elands son Harley Knight who turns 24 tomorrow.
Harley resides in the big smoke now and keeps himself out of mischief (well, relatively) working as a sound technician at Australia's biggest nightclub "Home" at Darling Harbour, so although he'll be working on his birthday, I imagine he'll get some dancing in over the course of the evening.
Suey's exhibition this Friday
ELANDER Suey McEnnally's amazing new exhibition "On The Great Divide" opens at the Manning Regional Art Gallery this Friday at 6.30pm, featuring new works in oil from the award winning artist.
Also exhibiting will be Mooral Creek's Jo Ernst with her wonderful portrait collection: "Elders at Marrangbah".
Admission is $10 (kids under 16 free) which includes champagne and nibbles.
Entertainment will be provided by Up In Annie's Room, and it's shaping up to be a fabulous evening of art and culture.
All welcome.
Hayley soon to be on the road
EVERYTIME I look up there seems to be another Elands teenager behind the wheel.
This week Hayley Watts will celebrate her 16th birthday and as is customary with these young ones, she'll be off to the RTA to take the learner's test.
Best of luck Hayley, and a very happy birthday.
Mum Cheree has gone through four learner driver children, and says it's still a bit nerve wracking when you have to take the passenger seat to your babies. (I know the feeling!)
