It just shows how indicative this wonderful family sport can be.
Our recent 3D shoot at the club grounds was again an eye opener for our newer members who came out to advance their skills and shoot at the 30 rubber 3D look alike feral animals which had been placed throughout our forest.
A break for a much deserved lunch break then out again to finish mid afternoon.
We were then on another trip away which saw members travelling to Wingen (New England) to compete in one of the most popular shoots in our calendar year.
Held over two days and attracting a huge roll up of archers from all over the land wanting to collect not only the medals but the tremendous amount of great prizes that were on offer.
Our archers again did us proud.
Alanna Herring and Mike Elvin were amongst the top runners and our president Owen Kirkman, once again why he continues to be one of the best in the country in his division gaining another first place on the weekend tournament.
It is not all about tournaments and breaks from our busy schedule can also be rewarding, like other volunteer organizations in our area we do offer our services and equipment where we can.
The most recent of these was being invited to assist in the end of season picnic day for The Haliday Point Barracudas Soccer Team held at Knorrit Flat along the Nowendoc Road.
We arrived mid morning, set up the 3D animal targets and had a group talk regarding safety and introduction to the equipment.
The children were so disciplined and the day went ahead without incident, mums and dads also joined in so as not to be outdone by their siblings.
A great day was had by all, lunch was served from lamb on the spit and we might have found ourselves a few new members for when soccer season is finished.
Congratulations for a job well done by all involved in their club and also to the owners of Knorrit Flat for your hospitality and making us welcome.
Our indoor venue and introduction to archery is still attracting lots of potential archers, if you would like to master this great sport head over to the Wingham Showground every Thursday evening at 6pm, catering to all ages and statures and equipment to help get you started, call in have a look or a coffee.
