Unfortunately I wasn't able to visit any of the schools or the Wingham Historical Society Museum due to other commitments but heard that the dinner on Saturday evening at the WSC attracted somewhere in the region of 190 guests, who all had a very happy time renewing friendship and telling some great stories.

MANY happy returns to my friends, husband and wife Ray and Judy Cluss of Tinonee who both celebrated another birthday this last week. Ray celebrated his special day on Wednesday September 10 whilst Judy's was on Friday September 12. The girls at the museum remembered Ray's on Wednesday with a cake thanks to Jenny and Judy worked her day at the school canteen, but believe they enjoyed an outing on Saturday. To you both love and best wishes for many more birthdays ahead.

ST Luke's Anglican Church, Tinonee was the venue for the baptism of toddler Charlotte Grace Holstein, youngest daughter of Rebecca and Wayne Holstein of Tinonee on Sunday September 14. Young Charlotte was on her best behaviour when Rev Neville Schofield performed the baptism service, watched by her parents Rebecca and Wayne and sister three-year-old Zoe, godparents Tayla Holstein (aunt) and Asher Clare (cousin of Rebecca). At the conclusion of the service, Frances Barberie presented young Charlotte with a gift on behalf of the St Luke's congregation.

Watching on proudly during the service were Charlotte's grandparents Mark and Nicole Summerville of Wingham and Desale Holstein of Wingham, second cousin 11-year-old Ruby Summerville of Wingham along with great-grandparents, Ted and Ann Clare who had travelled from Arundel, QLD and Lee Summerville from Forster to be part of the happy event.

Following the conclusion of the service, congregation members joined the family in sharing a delicious christening cake provided by Rebecca.

THE AGM meeting of Tinonee Memorial School of Arts Hall was held at the home of President Ray and wife Alison Flippence on Monday September 8.

Following the presentation of the various reports, the election of office bearers was held with the out going committee returned unopposed. President Ray Flippence, secretary and public officer Jan Hayden, treasurer and assistant publicity officer Pam Muxlow, assistant secretary Alison Flippence, catering officer and publicity officer Jenny Cherry and patron James Gollan.

Last Sunday there was another pleasing attendance at the monthly Country Music Concert held at the Hall with the backing music of the Redback Country Band.

These concerts unfortunately are drawing to a close as we know them when the last will be held in December and the committee would like to thank everyone who has supported these concerts and helped to raise funds for the wonderful extensions that now grace the hall.

FOUR students from the school participated in the 2014 Premier's Spelling Bee Regional Final at Old Bar Public School. Congratulations to them all and well done.

Eleanor Ovey and Alyshia Palumbo, both year six students attended the finals on Monday September 8 held at Old Bar where Alyshia did well and bowed out in the third round of the competition whilst Eleanor had a great day spelling some very difficult words and finished runner-up in the competition out of 44 students.

In the junior section, the school was represented by Lachlan Burke and Warrun Krautloher with both boys performing extremely well finishing in the top 10 of the 44 strong competition, Lachlan made it to the fourth round and Warrun progressed to the final round.

A fantastic effort from the team and all can feel very proud of their results.
