On Wednesday last Miss Summah Lorraine Coles made her way into the world.
She is the newest member of the Coles family from Wingham and a sister to Brock aged four .
I think he was expecting a new playmate and finds her to be on the small side.
I’ll guarantee mum, Louise (nee McCarthy) didn’t agree last Wednesday as she was over 50 cms long and weighed in, I’ve been told, at eight and a half pounds.
Quite a large little bundle of joy for Louise and Jamie, don’t you agree?
Congratulations Louise and Jamie.
You now have a pigeon pair (one boy and one girl) not a set of book-ends (two boys) but I’m sure you are very happy about how things turned out. I
know Poppy James is as pleased as punch.
Last I heard things were going well for both mother and baby.
What a good little girl to arrive on the day mummy said she would.
Birthday wishes
WHILE we are on the subject of birthdays we might as well say “Many Happy Returns” to those celebrating this week.
Once again it is an all-male cast in this show as Trevor Jones, Leith Mills and Lucas Tisdell all become a year older and wiser this week.
Have great times on your special days, guys.
The celebrations should be very varied when one looks at the age spread.
May you all enjoy many more birthday celebrations in the future.
Wedding Anniversary wishes
IN this department it is a triple wish week also as I have three lots of wedding anniversary good wishes to pass on.
It really must be Spring to have so many in one week, mustn’t it?
Donna and Graeme Wallis, Lucy and Alan Weller and Sally (nee Murray) and Matthew Johnstone all celebrate their anniversaries this week.
Have wonderful days folks and we all hope to be able to say the same for many years to come.
Music comes back to “Longview”
FOR years the sound of music was heard across the hills in the Knorrit Flat area each October long week-end and I’m pleased to tell music lovers it will be here again this year from Friday, October 3 to Monday, October 6.
Of course once again you will be able to watch the Rugby League Grand Final on the big screen ( that is a must) but there are other attractions too such as fireworks, belly dancers and the a giant waterslide.
Anyone interested should log onto www.longviewfarmparty.com.au but let me warn you there are only 250 camp sites available so you’d best get in as early as possible so you don’t miss out on a great weekend of companionship and fun.
It is a mostly BYO weekend but there will be the barbecue as in the past, hot water and hot showers on tap and a wonderful 800 metre river frontage for those who want to just “veg” out and watch the water flow by or maybe canoe.
Children who accompany their parents will be admitted free of charge so check out the website.
Village happenings
THE Mount George Heritage Village Committee has held its AGM and the executive positions have not changed hands at all. Many thanks to them all for their past efforts and good luck in the coming year.
On Thursday, October 2, there will be a public meeting to work out just where to go from here and now to get the tennis club up and running once again.
If you play tennis you are most welcome to come along but as you know there is a lot of behind the scenes work in any club so playing tennis is not a required skill to join the club.
Joining is an ideal way to interact socially and the club will give the junior members of our village something to do with their time in out of school hours.
It is intended to have coaching for the youngsters and I’m quite sure any older people who would like to learn could be catered for if needed.
Do give this matter some thought and even if you don’t want to join the club be assured every extra pair of hands will be welcome in getting things up and running again.
