Wingham will be one of hundreds of towns and cities across the world taking part in a global gathering calling for action on dangerous global warming on Saturday September 20.
"When people look back on the day the entire world took a stand for action on global warming, I want to be able to say Wingham was a part of it," said GetUp member Donna Carrier who is organising the event at Wingham.
Donna was selected to attend Camp Earth Hour earlier this year, and she believes it is important for us all to take action on climate change.
There will be a Q and A session at Bent on Food focussed on climate change and coal seam gas in our region.
"We're expecting lots of locals to come along, there are plenty of people in the Manning Valley who want our government to get real on global warming," said Donna.
"We have some great speakers lined up and anyone is welcome to have their say."
Musicians including Sweet Nothin, Matt Zarb and Alyse Gray will play on the day.
"We want interaction from the people to show that we care about our planet," Donna added.
Speakers
GUEST speakers include local farmer and businessman Bruce Robertson who recently wrote a piece on fracking that was published in the Sydney Morning Herald.

Ivan McFadyen is a Newcastle yachstman and climate change activist who sailed his yacht Funnelweb across the ocean in March this year. An article in the Newcastle Herald about his trip, called "The Ocean is Broken" tells the story of his heartbreak to find that there were hardly any living things in the ocean.
For 3000 nautical miles, he didn't see a living creature.
Exactly 10 years before, when Ivan sailed exactly the same course from Melbourne to Osaka, all he'd had to do to catch a fish from the ocean between Brisbane and Japan was throw out a baited line.

Members of Manning Clean Water Action Group will also speak and members of all climate change groups are welcome to attend.
As world leaders touch down in New York City for the UN emergency climate summit, people are congregating in hundreds of cities and towns across the world, including New York, Berlin, London, Delhi, Melbourne and Wingham.
GetUp's campaigns chief Erin McCallum said: "With our political leaders a likely no show in New York, Australians need to stand up and make sure their voices are heard."
"People are gravely concerned about climate change and the impacts it will have on our way of life, livelihood and prospects for generations to come - it's time to let the big polluters know we won't let them dictate our future."
Peoples Climate Mobilisation event in Wingham will take place at Bent on Food Café - in the garden from 10am Saturday September 20.
Bring a picnic rug and listen to some passionate speakers talk about what is happening to our oceans, our rivers and what could happen in our own backyard.
