It appears that a Holden Rodeo utility was travelling in an easterly direction. As it went to negotiate a slight left hand curve, it has crossed the separation lines and collided head on into a commodore sedan travelling west.
The holden rodeo was occupied by only the driver, whilst the commodore was occupied by the driver and a passenger in the front seat.
Both vehicles were severely damaged with the occupants of both vehicles being trapped.
All three occupants were trapped in the vehicles for a lengthy period of time prior to being able to be released by emergency rescue units.
An 18 year old Tinonee female was driving a Holden Rodeo utility.
She was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital with fractures to face, wrist, ankle and pelvis.
She is currently in a stable condition.
A 27 year old female from Tinonee who was driving a commodore sedan is currently in John Hunter Hospital Intensive Care Unit suffering serious chest and head injuries.
A 16 year old Taree female who was a passenger in the commodore is in a serious but stable condition in John Hunter Hospital Intensive Care Unit, suffering serious leg, head and abdominal injuries.
