The slope on the western side of the bridge will be stabilised to prevent the possibility the road might slip, which council says could occur particularly with the heavy rains we have been having.
One lane will be closed with traffic lights starting Monday, September 8, which will be in effect until Friday, September 19. Delays of up to five minutes may happen.
The road and the deck of the bridge will then need to be sealed and patched from Monday, September 22 to Wednesday, September 24.
The road will be closed during this time and traffic will be diverted. Traffic going north can use Gloucester Road to go to Wingham and from there, either the Wingham Road to Taree or Tinonee Road for Tinonee.
Traffic going south will be diverted along the Tinonee Road to Wingham, and then using Gloucester Road to get back to The Bucketts Way.
All the dates will depend on the weather and council will update the community if anything changes.
