This was a very closely contested match between Claudia O'Donnell, the reigning champ, and Coral Lockery. The score was locked from the beginning to the end, when finally Claudia moved a few points ahead to win 25 to 22. Good game ladies!
The remainder of our members played social bowls with two games of triples. G Bell defeated N Foy 15 points to 12.
Again a very close game with our new player Joanne Duncan, playing lead for Gwen, showing good ability and gaining more and more confidence each week.
On the other rink there was another hard fought match, winning by only one point was the team skipped by Robyn Gillogly, who defeated Lorelle Dennes' team.
Tomorrow, August 7 will be the first round/semi final of the club's Fours championships. The games drawn are L Cross v N Foy and L Gilford v K Carlton. NSW rules and uniforms apply. Play or forfeit.
Social bowls will also be played.
Remember Sunday, August 31 we will be having nominated mixed pairs mufti, three games of 12 ends, 15 per player. Lunch is available from the bistro.
$300 cash in prizes for first, second and third places. A great day of fun, sport, exercise and friendship.
Any registered players are welcome. Please enter your name on the sheet provided in the bowls office or ring the club on 6553 4030.
Last but not least, all the best for the two men's grades who have both made it through to the State finals next week. Grade Two at Port Macquarie and Grade Five playing at Tamworth.
