Talents shine on the Bulga
LAST weekend's "Talents On The Bulga" enticed a great crowd out to the Bulga Hall following a cold wet day when it was hard to leave the fireplace.

However, all comers were richly rewarded with delicious food and a scintillating line-up of wonderfully entertaining acts from young and old.
There were young pianists and singers, senior poetry recitations, rock musos, tap dancers and even a stand up comedian on the bill.
The auction drew fierce bidding action (thank you glamorous auctioneer Jane Watson) and lucky raffle winners walked away with some grand prizes.
Pictured is songstress Jen Watts who entranced the crowd and had to return to the stage for an encore after incessant cheers.
Thanks to all who attended, performed, cooked, served and in any way assisted in the evening's successful raising of much needed funds for hall maintenence and reparations.
I'm still humming songs from the killer closing set of "The Loungeroom Philosophers"!
Neville Howse VC Rest Area opened
LAST Thursday the Bulga saw a number of dignitaries visiting town to open the Neville Howse VC rest area at Ellenborough Falls.
Local MPs and the Mayors of both Taree and Port Macquarie attended the ceremony along with a host of visitors and locals, including John and Dawn Simeon and their visiting son WO1 Peter Simeon, on leave from the army for the occasion.
The rock on which the plaque was set was donated by Dawn and John and comes from their property here in Elands.
Ever the busy one, Dawn also whipped into the kiosk and helped to cater for the crowd.
You just can't keep a good woman down!
Wedding bells for Brandon and Fe
LAST Saturday saw Brandon Bastin tie the knot with his lovely fiancee Fe Ruber.
Mum Stacy has been busily posting photos so that we all got to see the couple on their big day.
Congratulations Brandon and Fe.
Elands wishes you both a long and happy life together.
The newlyweds are pictured here in front of their very swish limo.
Happy Birthday Lucinda!
ONE of Elands' favourite daughters turns 21 this week and is celebrating with a trip home to spend it with Mum Sheryl Smith and Dad Greg Wilson.
We've watched Lucy Wilson grow up and it's hard to believe that she's now in her 20's.
Lucy headed south to live in Victoria where she's closer to her sisters, neices and nephews, but we'll keep claiming her as a local.
Great to have you back for a spell lovely Lucy, and many happy returns.
