She said it was very humbling to be announced Telemarketing / Classified Salesperson of the Year for a non-daily site at Friday's Fairfax ACM Sales Awards.
"To be recognised nationally for doing my job that I love, in a town that I love, was wonderful," she said.
"Each week our small team strives to produce an informative newspaper that provides our community with their local news and a platform for businesses to showcase their products.
"As a newcomer to Wingham's small community, I knew that I would need to earn the respect and trust of businesses and community leaders.
"This award was only possible through the ongoing support that I receive from them."
Elaine travelled to Sydney last week at attend the inaugural Fairfax ACM Sales Conference and Sales Awards which according to ACM's sales director, Rodney House, recognises the best of the best in selling skills and selling creativity.
"A huge thankyou to my manager Joanne Mansell for having the faith in me and nominating me for this award. To Samantha Brownrigg our journalist and to Pamela Mann our sales admin support, I couldn't do what I do, without you girls.
"This award belongs to the community of Wingham."
Elaine is now enjoying an extended stay in Sydney visiting family and friends.
