WEATHER conditions were again unsafe and unkind to members of Wingham Services Bluewater Fishing Club thus preventing any members launching their boats in the bluewater section.
However, two brave souls managed to wet a line from the breakwall rocks and managed to weigh in a total of 48 fish that totalled 25.75kgs.
Species caught included tailor, bream and luderick and the winner of the Wingham Boat and Tackle Voucher was no other than Wayne Reeve.
This outing's club voucher winner was Neil Miller while Sandra Bell collected the Greenaway's Taxi vouchers – these lucky members had their names drawn by Tamworth visitor, Natahlia, grand daughter of member Liz Bedford.
Twenty six members gathered at Wingham Rifle Club for the tasty barbecue cooked up by 'chef' Derek.
President Jack Muxlow thanked all for their attendance and help and reminded them of the annual Laurieton October weekend with deposit being taken and also of the Lansdowne/Coopernook Fishing Club's annual competition due to be held in July.
Details are yet to be finalised for Camden Haven's Broken Propeller Competition being held at the end of October.
Members were reminded that the next outing is set down for July 19-20 when all hope 'Mother Nature' will be a little kinder and allow the fishers to get their boats wet for a change.
