WELL what a week of bowls. Dad’s army started the week off with 21 bowlers who took to the greens on Wednesday, August 15.
M Hollibone, D Connell and M Cannon defeated P Tutty, P Ostara and B Kershaw 16-15. J Kennett and H Fisher won over T Baker and R Thomas 22-17. B Page, G Williams and I Scarr were triumphant over A Messer, A Humphreys and P Williams 25-14. Winners on the day were T Richardson, M Cumberland and J Pie who defeated T Richardson, C Webster and B Williams 28-17.
The Friday jackpot pairs on August 17 saw a small field take to the green.
A Cox and L Cross defeated E Holden and P Holden 18-16. C O’Donnell and P Hall had a great game against J Stone and J Black 15-15. Winners on the night were P Williams and B Williams who won over G Floyd and R Lollback 24-10.
What a great day we had for the Hunter Payton Day on Sunday August 19. We had 40 bowlers take to the green with the overall winners with 5w plus 42 P Tutty, B Craige, H Snelson and P Williams. Second place with 3w/D plus 22 were D Green, G Williams, P Brown and A Hinton. Third place with 3w minus 1 were A Messer, M Moore, G Floyd and B Williams and fourth place with 3w-8 was T Spriggs, D Ramsey, P Swan and M Clarke. Individual fours winners were P Kriss, A Cox, J King and I Scarr. Triples winners were T Cross, S Trenchard and G Ireland. Pairs winners were M Cumberland and D Connell. The single winner was P Hall. All had a great day.
