Eye on women's bowls

WINGHAM Women's Bowling Club's ever popular Greg Owen Auto Repairs open triples attracted a full field plus some reserves hoping for a game.

The weather was glorious compared with previous days, and it bought bright happy faces to make our day at Wingham Bowling Club such a successful day in all ways.

If you were good enough to have two wins, you were then required to bowl to the yard-stick, which takes skill at the end of a long day.

Winners were the Tuncurry team of S Thomas (skip), N Stubberfield, P Murray.

Runners-up: Lake Cathie team of J Blackler (skip), J Roberts, A Wilson while third went to J McGavock (skip), J Donkin, J Studdert of T/F Sports.

Thursday will be social bowls.

Nominations for the club triples close at 9am and the draw will then be done.

Saturday morning bowls with Narelle starts at 9am in mufti dress (casual and flat soled shoes).

Beginners - we would love to teach you the game of lawn bowls with this friendly bunch.

Sunday, July 27 will be nominated mixed pairs, $15 each/player and includes a barbecue.

There is $300 in cash prizemoney for first, second and third places.

This event proved a winner with enthusiasm among the bowlers Enter on the sheet provided in the bowls office.

See you on the green.
