Art school in Western Australia was prime ground for self expression for Peggy but she soon traded paintbrush and canvas for voice and guitar.
"My inspiration is drawn from spirit, land and what connects us all in this journey of the heart," she said.
Peggy's early music found support from Polygram Records with Western Australian band Martha's Vineyard seeing her do her musical apprenticeship playing with some great acts including Simply Red, Eurythmics, INXS and Paul Kelly.
She has lived in the Manning Valley now for a number of years and calls it home. Peggy has released four acclaimed indie solo CDs and has toured widely in Australia and lived, worked and recorded for a time in the Netherlands.
She notes a special time in her solo career spending 18 months on the road playing across the east coast of Australia including performances at Woodford and Port Fairy Festivals.
Peggy appears at Bent on Food for dinner and show on June 14. Book a table for a great night of original folk and soul music with the Peggy van Zalm Tree-O
