Junior Tigers

Under 12s

The under 12s travelled to Wauchope this week and had to take the field with only 11 players against the oppositions 13 which was a little disappointing as it made it very hard for the boys that took the field. To their credit they never gave up for the whole game but it was always going to be hard to get a win. We got within six points in the second half but two late tries sealed our fate. Matt, Matt and Logan toiled away all game with some great strong running and many tackles.Danny topped the tackle count in a great defensive effort. Hayden and John controlled the middle of the field and directed play all game. In the backs Zane,Maecus,Clancy and Cody covered heaps of ground in defense and made good runs to take a bit of pressure off the forwards. As usual our dummy half Nathan tackled everything that moved and gave good ball to the halves. Overall a great effort from the players that turned up and even though we were beaten you all showed grit and determination and I am sure a win is just around the corner.

Under 9s Wingham tigers v Forster Green

THE under 9s Tigers played the strong Forster Green team on a dew soaked main field at the Wingham Sporting Complex on Saturday. Forster kicked off and had five tries on the little Tigers in no time. Ty Yarnold scored a great barge over try after some good metres made by the outside backs of Kyle Buddle, Braithe Tubnor, Cooper Walker and Lincoln Parry.

The second third had some great defence Hayden Turner, James Swierczynski and Liam Andrews but failed to hold out the Forster Green team who seemed to be in good form. Liam Andrews scored a try to give Wingham some confidence. Shortly after Kyle Buddle scored after a quick scoot from dummy half.

The last third saw Logan Holden have an awesome game by hitting the gaps with every run earning him the Tigers player of the match. Mason Latimore also made good metres. After Braithe Tubnor got a penalty from another high shot, he made the quick tap and went over for a try. The boys tried hard all game but fell short. Great effort from all the boys!
