NEARLY 300 riders including world 24 hour champion Jason English from Port Macquarie will contest the opening round of the Chocolate Foot Mountain Bike event on Sunday to be held in at the Manning-Great Lakes Tip Riders track in the Kiwarrak Forest on Sunday.
This will be the first round of a five race series.
Riders will come from throughout NSW for the event which will have two races - four and seven hours.
English will start favourite after his win here last year.
A spokesman for the organisers said the number of riders has increased from last year due to the popularity of the course.
"We got tremendous feedback last year,'' he said.
"Riders said the course is fun and fast with no big climbs.''
Up to 40 local riders are also expected to take part while other club members will also assist with the running of the races.
Riders will be away around 8am and the day should conclude around 3pm.
